BAFTA-WINNER OPENS DOORS FOR WWII SPEC SCRIPT
The WWII spec script, The Third Bomb – a ‘secret history’ story about the doomed flight of the third atomic bomb – has garnered interest with major production companies, agencies and producers in the UK after some fantastic efforts by BAFTA-winning producer Sias Wilson to get the word out.
LOGLINE: When a by-the-book U.S. pilot crash-lands on a Japanese island carrying the third atomic bomb, he’s forced to choose between honor and duty: detonate the bomb and annihilate a POW camp, or let the bomb fall into the hands of a disgraced Japanese commander.
THE THIRD BOMB AT EFM AND CANNES
Sias travelled to the European Film Market and Cannes Film Festival this year to pitch his favorite projects to some entertainment-industry heavyweights and The Third Bomb received some enthusiastic responses. After reading it, many of those contacts have now left the door open for further talks! It’s a true testament to Sias’s hard work and influence. Several of those entities had been approached before, only to turn it down. Bravo, Sias!
WHO WILL DIRECT THE THIRD BOMB?
Efforts at packaging The Third Bomb have now begun, with the search for a great director being goal #1. Sias has carefully compiled a list of suitable directors that he will approach, one at a time. It’s an impressive list of super-talented people.
